Said "YES" to the dress!!!

Hadn't planned on wedding dress shopping until after the new year because we were both becoming so stressed out over wedding planning that we promised each other we were going to take the time and just enjoy our engagement. So it was no more wedding talk until after the new year. We made it about a week but we just couldn't help ourselves!

Mom was in Hickory yesterday doing some interviews so just asked her if she wanted to meet at the mall and look in the wedding dress shop just to see what they had a maybe get an idea. Tried on a few dresses and really liked one but it was hard because it was just the first time I had tried on dresses so not sure if it was the excitement of it all or I actually loved it. We waited and decided to go look in Lexington today where someone from church had recommended. I'm glad that we did!

The first store had tons of dresses and even the designer Maggie Sottero that I loved. I found two that I really liked there too. But none seem to make me say "yes that's the one I want to get married in." An hour or so in I was exhausted and hungry and just over the whole thing. So mom and I stepped away and we went and got something to eat. There was another bridal shop that we were going to check out after. At this point in my mind I just wanted to go home and was over it all. But my dad and brother met us at the other shop and I was glad for them to see me in some dresses.

I was rummaging through the dresses not really liking too much. Tried on some and was like "ugh ok time to go home." But the consultant pulled some dresses that she thought would be nice. Then she pulled one. I looked at it and didn't think I would like it all but put it on anyway. And then something about it just felt right. They say you get that feeling when you know that when you've found the right dress you just know...I didn't get that feeling at first. I absolutely loved it and it was the most different of all the ones I tried. But then Dad asked me "Do you see yourself walking down the aisle and marrying Todd in this dress?" That's when it hit me. That's when the tears started and I knew it was the one I wanted to marry him in. I wanted to walk down the aisle and him look up and see me in this dress. So I found it!!! : )

What I like most about the dress is that I was able to basically customize/design it the way I wanted. I was able to add things and take things away to make it the dress I wanted which I was excited about and knew that no one else would have the dress like I was going to get. I just kept looking at myself and smiling and so excited about it and didn't even want to take it off! So we shall see once it's all put together in 4 months! That's such a long time to wait!
